Inside Auckland

INSIDE AUCKLAND

Auckland is a vibrant and exciting city on an isthmus between two harbours – one facing east towards the Pacific Ocean, and the other West, towards the Tasman Sea and Australia. Essentially everyone lives near the water, which contributes greatly to its consistent ranking among the top ten most livable cities in the world. Most recently, Mercers ranked it 3rd behind two European stalwarts.

Apart from the miles of pristine beaches, Auckland sits in a dormant volcanic field, and there’s many “mountains” right within the city that you can climb. Cyleways are becoming more prolific, and public transport is rapidly catching up with other major cities.

If shopping is your thing, there’s many shopping Malls and  districts dotted around Auckland. From the upmarket boutiques of Remuera, to the quaint and historic shop on the shores of Devonport, to the Outlet Malls in Onehunga, there’s something for everyone.
